We participated as a partner in more than 15 collaborative research and development projects funded by European Commission (Horizon Europe, H2020 and FP7) and UK Government (Innovate UK) with total funding of more than 80M EUR.
The projects are related to energy, biomedicine, environment, transport, construction and digital.

GRAPHOSITE – Development of a graphene sensor for defect detection and real-time structural monitoring on wind blades and aircraft wings.
UltraWire – Development of a lightweight copper-nanocarbon wire with improved electrical, thermal and mechanical performances over bulk copper using production process scalable to large volume manufacture.
Biomedicine
TriAnkle – 3D bio-printed collagen and gelatine personalised scaffolds for tissue regeneration of ankle joint for patients with tendinopathies such as partial ruptures of the Achilles tendon and cartilage injuries.
nTRACK – Development of nanoparticles for structural and functional tracking of stem cell used for muscle regeneration therapy
M3DLoC – Additive manufacturing of 3D microfluidic lab-on-a-chip MEMS devices for diagnostics of tuberculosis, cancer, HIV and COVID
3D-BRICKS – 3D Bio-fabricated high-performance DNA-carbon nanotube digital electronics.

GENESIS – Development high performance membranes for CO2 capturing based on iPOSS and MOF membrane systems.

Repair3D – Development of innovative recycling and repurposing routes for end-of-life plastic waste and carbon fibre reinforced polymer for re-use in 3D printed goods.
HiBarFilm – High barrier monomaterial flexible films for food contact applications developed using functionalised nanomaterials.
Characterisation
nanoMECommons – Harmonisation of protocols for multi-technique, multi-scale characterisations of mechanical properties in a range of industrially relevant sectors.
OYSTER – Establishment of an Open Innovation Environment (OIE) for nanoscale characterisation and bio-inspired interfaces.
Data Management
DOME 4.0 – Development of an intelligent semantic industrial data ecosystem for knowledge creation across materials and manufacturing value chains providing sustainable solution to the information silos problem and puting forward a formal, ontology-based documentation for open and confidential data spaces.
