Advanced Battery Manufacturing Workshop in Cambridge

The Advanced Battery Manufacturing Workshop was organised as a hybrid event (in-person and online) held on 16–17 April 2026 at Homerton College, University of Cambridge by Cambridge Nanomaterials Technology Ltd supported by Goldbeck Consulting. This two‑day workshop was co-organised and supported by the three battery projects:

  • BATTwin – Flexible and scalable digital-twin platform for enhanced production efficiency and yield in battery cell production lines – project (BATTwin).
  • AM4BAT – Gen. 4b Solid State Li-ion Battery by Additive Manufacturing (AM4BAT Project), and;
  • BatCAT – Battery Cell Assembly Twin (BatCAT | NMBU),

Around 60 participants attended in person over the two days, with approximately 100 participants joining online.

The event brought together representatives from nine other projects.

Innovation Management Training in Cambridge

Cambridge Nanomaterials Technology Ltd, delivered a two‑day Innovation Management Training workshop for the MSCA Doctoral Training Network (DTN) project MELOMANES. Melomanes is a training-by-research project on an innovative immunotherapy treatment enhanced by nanoparticles.

The training, led by Dr Bojan Bokovic and Dr Ana Bankovic Cassidy, took place on 19–20 March 2026 at the Pitt Building in Cambridge, UK.11-1030x498

The training programme was focused on entrepreneurship and covered:

  • business‑style pitch presentations,
  • IP as a foundation of the business,
  • business model and plan development,
  • funding opportunities—including valuation, private investors, business angels, and government grant funding.

The workshop concluded with individual pitch presentations, followed by peer and trainer feedback.

Interview on Bloomberg Adria News

Dr Bojan Boskovic, CEO of  Cambridge Nanomaterials Technology Ltd, was interviewed on 9th January 2026 by Natasha Davidov for Bloomberg Adria at Bloomberg’s London studio. The conversation explored the use of nanomaterials across a wide range of applications, from bio‑3D printing to advanced functional coatings—including the development of BMW’s “blackest black” finish and innovative Achilles‑heel recovery solutions developed in a project with FC Barcelona.

The interview was recorded at Bloomberg’s London studio, and it is in the Leaders for BBA interview series. The Leaders for BBA (Leaders for Business) is a specific interview series produced by Bloomberg Adria, focusing on top executives, CEOs, and business leaders.

Dr Bojan Boskovic and Dr Ana Bankovic-Cassidy from Cambridge Nanomaterials Technology participated in the 16th edition of Advanced Engineering exhibition show, held at the NEC Birmingham on 29–30 October 2025.

The event offered an outstanding platform to explore cutting-edge technologies and emerging trends shaping the future of engineering. It also provided a valuable opportunity to reconnect with long-standing collaborators and forge new partnerships in a vibrant, forward-looking environment.

 

 

Carbon Nanotubes Synthesis, Manufacturing and Applications Symposium

The Carbon Nanotube Synthesis, Manufacturing and Applications Symposium was organised by Cambridge Nanomaterials Technology Ltd., on the 8th October 2025, as a member objectives focused event. This symposium was held at Homerton College, Cambridge, Unveristy of Cambridge, UK as hybrid (in-person and online) event.

Nanomaterials for Energy and Environmental Applications Online Conference

The Nanomaterials for Energy and Environmental Applications Online Conference was held online on 7-8 MAY 2025 with the participation of around 40 people each day. The majority of participants came from industry.

Workshop on improved barrier films with functionalised nanomaterials for packaging applications

This workshop, held as part of the HiBarFilm Project, took place at Homerton College in Cambridge on 11 February 2025 as a hybrid event. A total of 42 participants registered, with 25 attending in person and 17 joining online. The external organisations that joined the workshop were: Novartis Pharma (CH); Haleon; Avanzare; University of Cambridge; Ourobio / ecogenesis; Innovia Films; one • five; The Co-op; DOMINO; ExxonMobil; BoxWay Packaging Group; Thermo Fisher Scientific; Queen Mary University of London; TMBK; PULPEX; Bimbo Bakeries USA; RESINEX, Bridge @ University of Lincoln; KluraLabs; and Central South University.

A small exhibition area at the back of the room was set up for partners, to enable them to display some information and banners. For participants who were unable to attend in person, a virtual exhibition was available for them to browse.

 

Workshop on advanced materials for offshore wind turbines in the newspaper

Workshop on lightweight, multifactional and digitalised materials for offshore wind and tidal turbines

This workshop on structural health monitoring of composites used in the wind tidal turbine applications is related to the 2nd Open Day of the Carbo4Power project. The Open Day took place on the 10th October 2024 at Homerton College in Cambridge, UK, as a hybrid meeting.

This hybrid event attracted 60 participants, with half of them representing external organisations. Attendees included companies and institutions such as Airbus Commercial, Graphenea, Onyriq, EireComposites, IDCORE – FastBlade, Avanzare Innovación Tecnológica, EURECAT -Technology Centre, INEGI, TMBK Partners, E.G.O. Elektro-Gerätebau, Nanografi Nano Technology, Tecnalia, LEITAT Technological Center, University of Leeds, Sigmatex (UK), NOVITOM, University College London, Nanyang Technological University, Cranfield University, University of Bolton, Centro Tecnológico CTC, Brunel Composites Centre (BCC), TWI, and  Simperler Consulting.

The event attracted media attention, with the Cambridge Independent newspaper publishing an article about it.

 

3D bioprinting workshop in Cambridge Independent newspaper

Workshop on personalised 3D bio-printed collagen-and-gelatin implants

A workshop on personalised 3D bio-printed collagen-and-gelatin implants took place as a hybrid meeting, in Cambridge UK at the Clayton Hotel Cambridge, UK on the 23rd January 2024. This workshop was organised by Cambridge Nanomaterials Technology Ltd and related to the European Commission funded TriAnkle project (Grant Agreement 952981).

More than 50 people participated the event in person and online from 17 countries from Europe, Asia, South America and from the US. External delegates were coming from leading institutions and organisations such as: University of Cambridge, University College London, Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Trust; Nelt Pharmaceuticals, Universitat Politecnica de Valencia, UIC Catalonia, Vonlathen Group, University of Glasgow, ANSYS, Bioprosthetics Inc, Newcastle University, NarrowWare, University of Sheffield, Massachusetts General Hospital -MGH, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, among others. Most participating organisations belong to industry. From those people that registered, 52 delegates participated in the workshop, of which 33 attended the event in person.

Interview for the BBC News

Dr Bojan Boskovic, CEO of Cambridge Nanomaterials Technology Ltd gave an interview to BBC News Click programme about nanomaterials and nanotechnology. The UltraWire project was featured at the same episode of the BBC News Click programme. The programme was shown on TV for the first time on 9 April 2016 on the BBC News and the BBC World News channels and few more times in following days and weeks. It was available for download and viewing in the UK until February 2017 on the BBC iPlayer.

The EC FP7 UltraWire project ended on 30th September 2016; however, the project partners and other researchers around the world are continuing development of this exciting technology.
