Workshop – Advanced Battery Manufacturing

Advanced Battery Manufacturing Workshop

16-17 April 2026

Homerton College, University of Cambridge, Cambridge, UK
(in-person & online)

CNT Innovation supported the sister company, Cambridge Nanomaterials Technology, with the event: Advanced Battery Manufacturing Workshop. The Advanced Battery Manufacturing Workshop was a hybrid event held on 16–17 April 2026 at Homerton College, University of Cambridge, and online. This two‑day workshop was co-organised and supported by the battery projects:

  • BATTwin – Flexible and scalable digital-twin platform for enhanced production efficiency and yield in battery cell production lines – project (BATTwin).
  • AM4BAT – Gen. 4b Solid State Li-ion Battery by Additive Manufacturing (AM4BAT Project), and;Introductions-495x400
  • BatCAT – Battery Cell Assembly Twin (BatCAT | NMBU),

Around 60 participants attended in person over the two days, with approximately 100 participants joining online.

The event brought together representatives from nine other projects.

Some of the topics of this workshop were:

  • The Future of Battery Manufacturing
  • Digital Twins in Battery Production
  • Lithium-Ion Battery Performance
  • Solid State Li-ion Batteries
  • Additive Manufacturing for Next Generation Batteries
  • Digitalisation of Battery Manufacturing
  • Building a Sustainable European Battery Value Chain
  • Reduction of defect rates in production lines

An article about the workshop has been published in the Cambridge Independent newspaper issue from 29th April 2026.
